What is this wannabe reading blog about?
Short answer: Not sure 100% yet, learning as we go!
Longer answer: Currently I'm conducting a learning project of sorts, where I'm focusing on a few aspects of writing that I hope to grow in. The plan is to tackle short stories of the mystery, magical realism, and perhaps even sci-fi/speculative fiction genres. We'll also explore screenplay writing and the glitz and glamor of Hollywood writing. In order to do this, I'll be doing a few "deep dives" into short stories and screenplays-- analyzing some literary theory, imparting some of my oh-so-important opinions, and generally basking in awe at the brilliance of these writers. I might also upload a few informational posts and start posting my reviews of books here as well (or catch me over at my Goodreads!)

Short answer: Human. Reader. Is this a Twitter bio.
Longer answer: I'm a high-school student who yes, also happens to be a human and avid reader. My favorite book is... trick question, it's impossible to choose. But recent favorites from 2020 include Dig. by A.S. King and Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor. As mentioned before, I'm on a personal writing learning journey and this is really a place to add some tangible weight to my learning.
What's next?
Short answer: Reading and writing galore!
Longer answer: Soon I'll be starting my three part Foundationals series for the super basics of plot, setting, and character! I'll pick a few short stories and screenplays for deep dives. To help streamline my choices from the billions of stories out there, I'll start with some acclaimed award lists (expect to see some familiar friends over from awards such as Agatha and Edgar and Hugo).
